The position of the feed pumpcontrol in Bosch Limited’s CRDI systems had been showing variances in pressureregulation, leading to:

•Inconsistentfuel pressure delivery to the injectors.

•Fluctuationsin engine performance, particularly under varying load conditions.

•Potentiallong-term wear of system components due to irregular pressure spikes or drops.

•Difficultyin achieving precise control of the injection process, affecting overall engineefficiency and emissions.

Optimization of Feed pump control

Controlled Environment Testing:  The tests were conducted in a controlled environment, replicating real-world  driving conditions (idle, low load, and high load) to measure the effect of  feed pump positioning on fuel pressure.

Pressure Response Recording:  Real-time data was collected on pressure fluctuations, fuel delivery rates,  and corresponding engine performance indicators such as fuel efficiency,  emissions, and power output.

Comparative Analysis:  Results from different feed pump control positions were compared to identify  trends and their effect on system stability.

Recommendations

System Calibration:Periodic recalibration of the feed pump control system during vehiclemaintenance to ensure that it remains optimized for the specific engine.

Continuous Monitoring and Adjustment:Install sensors to continuously monitor the real-time pressure levels, withautomatic adjustment of the feed pump control to prevent fluctuations.

Advanced Diagnostic Tools:Incorporate diagnostic software capable of detecting minor deviations inpressure before they escalate into significant engine performance issues,reducing the likelihood of component wear.
